This semester we did something new. In the recent past, we created both a static HTML and mobile version of the digital resumes and portfolios. With the onset of HTML5 and responsive HTML, I decided to let the students purchase a responsive HTML template to use for their final projects. We still learn HTML, but now they learn how to create a static site (or dynamic, as in a blog) that will work on any screen. These resumes should perform well on your smartphone, tablet and computer screens. Let me know what you think.
These students are wonderful. Most have graduated. I suggest that you will be well served if you pursue them for your agency or organization. They’re sharp! They’re fun! You’ll be lucky to have them, too!

By the way, we also did a printed portfolio project from the content represented on their websites. I’ve suggested that for years, but this was the first year it was mandatory for this class.

I’ve been slow in sharing last semester’s student projects. My apologies.
Below, you will see links to all of the digital portfolio and resume projects from my students last semester, Fall 2008.
Check them out. Hire them. Bring them in for internships. A few have already graduated and landed jobs, but some are still looking. We always tell them not to ‘settle’ for a job, but rather to seek out the job they really want. Find that “right fit” for themselves.
Your firm or organization may well be the fit they are looking for in public relations/marketing.

Fall 2007 saw a new batch of PR student projects. The following came from the good folks in the PRCM 4020 Style & Design class.

As you’ll learn, if you follow this site, I love my students and I’m very proud of them. This group put in a lot of work on these projects. Please, give them a look and perhaps offer them a job or internship.
This summer’s digital resumes and portfolios are complete. The project wound up being a bit different than usual, due to the short five week mini-mester term. But, the projects have some new aspects which, I believe, make them more appealing.
I appreciate the work of these fourteen students. Hire them and/or select them for internships.
Each project contains two major sections. First, there is the resume, an HTML version of the usual Word document. Second, you’ll find the digital portfolio. It contains samples from the work product of these students over their college career.
One new addition to the project is video. Students created video interviews with students, faculty and staff around Auburn. All of those interviews were posted at the Loveliest Village Journal, too.
